Just got Nitro internet installed, supposed to get up to 100mb/s download and up to 5mb/s upload. I will try it via ethernet, this is my wireless test.

I got a bundle package and with cable tv, nitro internet and home phone it is about 175.00 per month. That is regular cost, no promotion. Nitro alone cost almost as much as that. We have a 350 gb per month cap so plenty of room for downloading, watching netflix, etc

Still hasn't changed much.

ahh but that ping! I would much prefer better ping and over greater distance, I am IN Dublin, and about 10miles from the server :p

The best I can get wirelessly. Wired would be much higher as I am on a 100mb/s plan. This is the result from my dual band router on the 5 ghz channel. The 2.4 I only got less than 3mb/s download and almost the same for upload.

Yeah the wireless will reduce it, plus overhead and "noise", but you have more then one device attached?
5Ghz is only an advantage at smaller distance, 2.4ghz is better when there are walls etc between you and the signal, in theory :p The main thing with bandwidth over 50mb is the shareability, there are very few sites and services that will use my full 120mb download. Actually only Steam consistantly uses 14-15MB/s download, which is nice for all the new MASSIVE games, hard disk space becomes the issue :p Also, thats 14-15 Mega BYTE, which is around 120 Mega BIT per second. We still live with the BIT BYTE lie as its a great sales gimmick I downloaded a movie for a friend, it came down at 3MB/s, due to the site in use, but copying it to an old USB stick went at 1.5mb/s

Oh and then there is LAN speed! To me that counts more!
