Linux Mint Empty Linux Mint

Anyone else using this operating system? I like it better than Ubuntu.

In fact, if I could find a way to get my TomTom GPS device to work with Mint I could almost ditch Windows altogether. Cool

Here's a screenshot of my current desktop:

(I had to post a link because it doesn't show the whole image otherwise).

Looks cool! Can you run it alongside Windows?

Yep, but I don't have it set up as a dual boot at the moment. I just have it on a separate hard drive. I just change the power plug between the 2 hard drives inside the PC depending on which OS I want to use (Linux Mint or Windows 7).

I've been playing around with 'Oracle VM VirtualBox' which allows you to run almost any version of Windows inside Linux.

Here's a screenshot of Windows XP running inside VirtualBox.

I can make XP larger, of course. I also have Windows 98 Second Edition installed. It works, but only has very limited driver support. I can't get sound for it and the screen resolution and color depth is very low. But, its lots of fun to play with. Brings back memories of my early computer days (only 10 years ago. lol.)

Now, I need to get my hands on a copy of Windows 95. Laughing
