I am about ready to take up drinking but then I would have to get another job .

I only drink on Sunday evenings. At the moment, anyway. That could change very soon.

I don't drink but let me tell you it is becoming an ever present thought in my mind. It scares me because alcoholism runs in my family. My dad is a recovering alcoholic, all my siblings are alcoholics also. My three brothers are functioning alcoholics, they hold jobs and good jobs but they are still alcoholics. My sister is long gone. My mom and I are the only non alcoholics in my immediate family.

I am a recovering alcoholic ..19 years...I think about having a drink and it scares me....functioning alcoholic well I could of given so much more to the household if I hadn't spent it on me... just say no...it really works.

Yeah for you Larry.................you can count me in on being an ex'er as well, 7-8-08 & counting, smoke-free................on alcohol, I had a great Aunt who died from it, my Grandmother doesn't drink for if she does, she tends not to stop, a brother that enjoys a drink but is a gambler, not sure which is worse. EVERYONE has one vice or another. My MAIN vice is my Faith. : )

Good for you Kris! Stopping smoking is one of the hardest things to do! You go girl!
