That is exactly why I am grateful.Doc wrote:Deb, I know you're going through a difficult time now. I think it may help you to think of your Mom joining family and friends that left this world behind a long time ago. No more pain, no more illness, no more sadness. She's at peace, and for that, you can be grateful.

Deb, my deepest sympathies to you and your family.
I know there isn't much we can say or do to ease the pain you feel right now, but my heart is with you.

Re: Prayers for my parents please
Deb, the following was passed on to me during a time of grief. I found some comfort in its words. I hope you do as well. God Bless.
The Rose Beyond the Wall
A rose once grew where all could see.
Sheltered beside a garden wall,
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall . . .
One day a beam of light shone through.
A crevice that had opened wide.
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side . . .
Now, you who deeply feel its loss
be comforted -- the rose blooms there.
Its beauty even greater now
nutured by God's own loving care.
I would like to
Express my heartfelt sympathy
In the loss that you must bear,
And may you find some comfort
In the thought that others care.

Re: Prayers for my parents please
My heart goes out to you Deb..a few years ago I watched my mother die...it took well over a week but she was 93 and was just worn out..quit eating and drinking and her body slowly shut down.. She was in a nursing home and the last couple of days they used to call me every couple of hours and update me on her condition.. I just couldn't go and see her the last few days.. she had gone from 120lbs to 60lbs.. I wanted to remember her as she was...

Very sorry for your loss, Deb. Brings back sad memories of when I lost my mom a few years back. The thought of being pain free is great. No more suffering.
Sorry, I never was any good at these things. Seems I never find the right words.

Re: Prayers for my parents please
Thanks guys. This has been a trip from hell.
I had to go get moms clothes she wanted to be buried in yesterday then go tell my dad face to face. he took it hard but he will be going to live with my brother for the mean time.
Today we go make the funeral arrangements, it just sickens my stomach all of this. We should try to prepare all this stuff before hand as much as possible so those left behind dont have to because it is so time consuming and it drains you of so much energy.
My work has been real assholes about all of this. Ill explain more on that later.

Re: Prayers for my parents please
Deb, I just now got home & jumped on here to see how you were faring, wanted to know that you were OK & see that you are.
I'm keeping u all in prayers. Sorry for your loss although I invision the celebration that took place the day her soul left. She's layed her crown before our Savior & has a mansion w/ones she gets to have a reunion with. What an awesome eternity, it's what we're all waiting for as well.
Sorry to hear you employers are not supporting but glad to know that your brother has stepped up to the plate & taken your father in. He needs to be the focus now.
Yes taking care of everything afterwards is alot of work to say the least. I know that my gma has had hers all planned since gpa left, she's been up & down here all this yr & I think it's getting close for her for she is now calling & making sure all the paperwork is ready & done right now, so she is really going in peace. We're praying that she'll go in her sleep for she is like your father, has failing kidneys & is down to less than 15% (at least when I left monday on vacation) & she's refusing dialysis.
You r one strong Lady for all that you are treading thru, lift up your heart for you have done well as the word says that you will raise up the young & the young shall care for the elders. Put a spring in your step thru this finale & sorrow one last time to ease your heart only this time the sorrow is one that is rejuvinating for your days ahead, be gladden in your sorrow for u know it's rewarding for your mother & honoring her.
Hugs to you all & again praying for everyone & specially for dad, that he too will feel the peace that his love is no longer suffering & that she is now smiling & busy preparing for all of you that she has left behind.
A sorrow CELEBRATION. It's happy to be so sad, experiencing the best of both worlds kinda thing.
Love ya & you have my # should u need a shoulder, but know that you are in great hands with John.
